Index cards Note-taking techniques

You may prefer to make notes on index cards. These are sometimes referred to as summary cards or concept cards as they're often used to summarise the information you've collected on a certain topic. You can also use them to note relevant keywords with brief explanations.

This example describes the kind of information you might include on your index card.

On the reverse the card is used to list important notes for the subject. The notes are linear and broken down into sections by lines and headings.
