Passing on your student data

The Open University (OU) does not sell or share your details with other organisations, except in connection with the services we provide to you.

Mostly we subcontract services under strict contractual confidentiality obligations, but sometimes we pass on your details to associated organisations such as the Open University Students Association.

If applicable, we’ll pass any necessary information to OU Student Budget Accounts (OUSBA), the Student Loans Company, your sponsor or your professional body.

For statutory purposes we also pass some information about you and your studies to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), which collects information about all students attending UK universities.
