Conditions of Registration 2020/21 Supplementary Agreement (Nursing)
In March 2020, The Open University published its new Conditions of Registration 2020/21 Supplementary Agreement (Nursing) for the first time.
This Supplementary Agreement applies to students that have been accepted on to The Open University’s Pre-Registration Nursing programme only and sets out the additional terms relating to study of a Nursing Qualification. Significant changes were made since the 2019/20 version of this document
The changes made
- Inclusion of nursing degree apprenticeships, and addition of references to the Conditions of Registration (Apprenticeships), Nursing Privacy Notice and Apprenticeship Privacy Notice where relevant. Where sections are not of relevance to Apprentices, these have been listed in ‘out of scope’ or not applicable.
- Addition of paragraph 2.6 to advise that neither an offer of a place nor completion of the qualification guarantees entry onto the professional NMC register.
- Additional sentence in paragraph 3.1(c) to explain the requirement for ongoing employment.
- Addition of paragraph 3.5 for Apprenticeships who are not covered under the current paragraph 3.4.
- Amendment to paragraph 4.1.2 (was 4.2) to remove reference to England only.
- Addition of Section 4.2 for apprentices who are not covered under the current Section 4 (Now section 4.1).
- Additional clause within 5.2 to explain the requirement for Apprentices to contact their APDM or equivalent contact for further information.
- Clarification added to paragraph 6.1 to amend the timescales for completion, and to provide additional information regarding extensions for Apprentices.
- Amendment to paragraph 7.1d to remove reference to communication of data to third parties, and to amend the reference the security and processing of OU information only.
- All references to ‘Nursing Degree’ have been amended to ‘Nursing qualification’.
