Becoming a teacher: Scotland
To become a teacher in Scotland, you can either complete a four-year undergraduate degree in Education, a one-year postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), or qualify with equivalent qualifications outside of Scotland. To find everything you need to choose a career in teaching see

Primary and secondary
The Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) is the graduate entry route if you want to become a primary or secondary teacher in Scotland. Unlike other postgraduate courses, you must apply through the UCAS applicant system.
Further education
The Teaching Qualification in Further Education (TQFE) is the core teaching qualification to become a college lecturer in Scotland. Currently, the TQFE is delivered by several Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) including University of Aberdeen, University of the Highlands and Islands, and University of Stirling.
