Conditions of Registration for Postgraduate Research Students 2026/27
In July 2026, The Open University published the Conditions of Registration for Postgraduate Research Students 2026/27.
There are some changes from the previous version of this policy Conditions of Registration for Postgraduate Research Students 2025/26 . These are:
- General restructuring of the document and refreshing links to contacts and policies. Where possible this is to bring the formatting in line with taught policy best practice in policy formatting and wording.
- New Clause A4.1 added to confirm you must provide satisfactory proof of your identity. Also added to the same clause that International PhD students learning at a distance do not need to present documents for registration in person.
- Clause A8.4 list amended to clarify when changes will be made to certificates that have already been issued.
- New Clause C4.1 and C4.2 added to clarify how information may be shared in response to us being made aware of a disability, health condition, or additional support need. Signposting to the new Student Reasonable Adjustments Policy included.
- Clause K1.2 list expanded to include further examples of orders and restrictions.
