Academic Regulations (Apprentices) 2025/26
The Academic Regulations 2025/26 (Apprentices) replaces the Academic Regulations 2024/25 (Apprentices), with effect from 1st August 2025.
Summary of Significant Changes since last version
There are several changes from the previous version of this document:
- The Academic Regulations (Apprentices) has been put into a new policy template to improve accessibility.
- A short summary has been published alongside the main regulations for the first time.
- Wording has been reviewed to ensure it is clear and easy to understand.
- Detailed academic regulations around RPL and time limits which over which Apprenticeship regulations take precedence have been removed for clarity. Signposting to this information in the Academic Regulations (Taught Courses) is provided.
- Contact details for Apprentices standardised to AEST who may refer onwards if appropriate.
- The Education and Skills Funding Agency transfers its work to the Department for Education (England and Wales) in March 2025. These regulations have been updated in line with this.
