In January 2024, The Open University published the Students Studying in Secure Environments Policy for the first time.
This policy explains how The Open University works with justice and health organisations to support students in secure environments to achieve their study goals. The Open University’s curriculum for students in secure environments respects the rules and regulations of the justice agencies the university partners with. Additionally, the study options available to those in secure environments have been adapted and can be studied successfully without access to the internet or our digital teaching tools and services.
