In April 2024, The Open University published theAegrotat Policy for the first time.
This policy sets out The Open University’s policy for the consideration of Aegrotat awards. Aegrotat awards can be considered under two specific sets of circumstances:
• Posthumously, where a student has died while registered on a qualification.
• Where a student’s serious illness or disability means they are unable to continue with their studies and are not ever likely to be able to return to study.
Please talk to your Student Support Team if you need any further information. You can find out how to contact them on Contact the OU.
