Changes to policy and curriculum

Student Computing Policy

In March 2022, The Open University amended the Student Computing Policy.

The Open University Student Computing Policy sets out the expected ways in which you, as a student, will use Open University computing services in your studies. This policy ensures you have clear information about how you should and should not use Open University computing services as part of your studies and in your interaction with The Open University, its staff and your fellow learners and students. It includes policy on security, working safely online, communicating, and standards of behaviour.

The changes made:

There have been several significant changes to this policy:

  1. Updated the title of the Plagiarism Policy in the Related Documents section to the new name of Academic Conduct Policy
  2. Addition of the term ‘learner for those studying via future Learn and apprenticeships
  3. Addition of sections covering (i) Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at The Open University and (ii) Safe Space Reporting
  4. Replacing the word ‘module’ with ‘study’ or ‘study materials’, as the policy applies to short courses as well as modules.
  5. Minor amendments to correct links and references
