Assessment Banking Rules 2022/23
In March 2022, The Open University published the Assessment Banking Rules 2022/23 for the first time.
This document contains information about the rules for deferring a module with assessment banking, which is one of the options laid out in section 3) of the Changing Your Study Plans Policy.
The changes made:
There have been several significant changes to this policy:
- A new paragraph has been written into ‘What this document covers’ to address changes which may be made to this document throughout the year, and to set expectation of notification in that instance.
- Statements about the Commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion at The Open University and Safe Space Reporting have been added.
- For modules which start on or after 1st August 2022, access to Deferral with Assessment Banking will no longer be automatically available to students on eligible modules. Students will be required to have an advisory discussion about whether Assessment Banking is appropriate for their circumstances with their Student Support Team (SST) or with their Apprenticeship Enrolment and Support Team (AEST) or equivalent contact, if studying as part of an apprenticeship programme.
