Research Degrees Handbook

In August 2021, The Open University published its new Research Degrees Handbook for the first time.

The changes made:

There have been several significant changes to this policy:

  1. Section 1.4.3 - Supervision and Third-party monitoring: Inclusion of reference to the PGR Manager system 1.4.3
  2. Section 2.1.7 - Withdrawal: Section updated to reflect that students can now request a withdrawal through the PGR Manager system, which will now be reviewed by the Graduate School Director for approval
  3. Section 2.3.1 - UKVI (UK Visas and Immigration): All references to 'Tier 4 Sponsors' have been replaced with 'Student Route Visa Holder Sponsor'
  4. Section 4.2 - Computers: The PGR Manager system is now given as an example of an OU system
