Conditions of Registration 2021/22 (Apprentices)
In March 2021, The Open University published its new Conditions of Registration 2021/22 (Apprentices) for the first time.
The Conditions of Registration 2021/22 (Apprentices) set out the terms and conditions (“Conditions”) that apply to registration for undergraduate and postgraduate taught modules and qualifications studied as part of an Apprenticeship Programme with The Open University; and the study of an Open University qualification as part of an Apprenticeship Programme.
The changes made:
There have been several significant changes to this policy:
- Additional paragraph added to the Scope section to note that the Conditions document may be updated throughout the year to correct errors, improve clarity or accessibility, or to reflect changes in legal or regulatory requirements
- Vocational learners added to the out of scope section
- Rewording of Fitness to Study clause in “Documents that govern your study” to provide clarification
- Replaced Student Charter Principles with relevant new Student Charter Values in The Open University Student Charter Values section.
- Addition of paragraph A10 Fitness to Study
- Addition of paragraph A11 Fitness to Practice
- Addition of paragraph E1.2 to E1 Withdrawing from your Apprenticeship section to refer to the Conditions of Registration (Apprentices) 2021/22 Redundancy Policy Appendix, and inserted link to document
- E2.1 g) updated to include Fitness to Study policy reference
- Updated Equality Act 2010 to Equality Act 2010 in England, Scotland and Wales, the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 for Northern Ireland or any other statutory duty or obligation throughout document
- Glossary updated to include Redundancy definition
- Additional wording added to the Further Clarification section to state that the most up-to-date response times for receiving and sending postal correspondence are available on the OU Offices webpage
- Additional clarification to paragraph Ap2.1 to explain that disclosure in this Clause relates to any legal restrictions and conditions that you are currently subject to or become subject to during the course of study
