Policy for the admission of applicants under the age of 18

In April 2021 a number of changes were implemented to the Policy for the admission of applicants under the age of 18. These changes potentially affect all students.

The changes made

  1. The requirement for Students aged 16 or 17 (other than those in Scotland applying as part of the Young Applicants in Schools Scheme (YASS)) to submit their application at least 4 weeks ahead of the published final enrolment date.
  2. Learners on apprenticeship programmes have been brought into scope of sections 2.1 and 2.3 only.
