Diploma of Higher Education in Social Sciences (W68) - Qualification amendment

From October 2021, two additional stage 1 modules will be available for students to study on the Diploma of Higher Education in Social Sciences (W68). Students will now be able to count Discovering the arts and humanities (A111) or Revolutions (A113) towards their qualification if they wish to do so.

If students are interested in the subject of Philosophy, both of these modules will prepare them for studying this at Stage 2. A111 contains an appropriate amount of philosophy content for subsequent study in this discipline, but as it is designed as an introductory Arts module, may be more accessible for students without prior experience of study in the Arts, and may be more suitable if they struggled when studying DD102. A113 is more demanding but contains more philosophy content.

Furthermore, an additional stage 2 module has been added to this qualification. Students will now be able to count Exploring Philosophy (A222) towards W68 if they wish to do so.
