In February 2021, The Open University made a change to the assessment of the module Comparative and international studies in primary education (E309) that began in October 2020.
Previously, EMA Part 1ii for this module included the requirement to interview a practitioner. However, due to COVID-related restrictions, it has been necessary to replace the original requirement to interview a practitioner with a requirement to respond to tutor feedback about an interview schedule.
This change to the EMA still ensures that students can demonstrate the relevant learning outcomes for this module. There has been no change to workload because of this amendment.
This change was made because COVID-19 restrictions have meant that a significant number of students will not be able to undertake an interview with an education practitioner.
