Changes to policy and curriculum

Criminology and law qualifications (Q92 and W52) - Qualification amendment

In February 2021, the University made some changes to the law curriculum within the following qualifications:

  • BA (Hons) Criminology and law (Q92)
  • Diploma of Higher Education in Criminology and Law (W52)

The impact upon students will differ depending on where they are in their studies.

The final opportunities to study the current law modules that make up these qualifications will be as follows:

  1. An introduction to law (W101) will be available for the final time in October 2021
  2. Public and criminal law (W203) will be available for the final time in October 2023

To learn more about this change, visit Changes to our Criminology and Law qualifications page.

Why this is happening

This change has been made because some of the law modules which currently make up this qualification are being replaced to meet the requirements of a new law qualification. The criminology modules that are part of this degree - Introduction to Criminology (DD105); Understanding Criminology (DD212); and Crime, Harm and the State (DD311) – will remain unchanged.
