Professional policing practice 1 (work-based learning) (BXY134) - Assessment change

In February 2021, the University contacted students to let them know that there had been a change to the module Professional policing practice 1 (work-based learning) (BXY134) that would impact the following cohorts:

  • July 2020 module start (20G)
  • August 2020 module start (20J)
  • January 2021 module start (21B)

The changes that were made depended on the cohort.

July 2020 module start (20G)

TMA 04 was re-written to reflect where apprentices were in their learning journey. This change gave students more guidance on what the module team were looking for in their answer to the TMA question. It also better aligned the TMA question to the point students were at in operational workplace learning.

Furthermore, the deadline of TMA 04 was pushed back to 8 April 2021. This delayed the due date of this assignment until after completion of the IPS, which allowed more time for students to complete both the IPS tasks and the TMA.

August 2020 module start (20J)

TMA 03 and TMA 04 were re-written to reflect where apprentices were in their learning journey.

Furthermore, the deadline of TMA 04 was pushed back to 15 July 2021. This delayed the due date of this assignment until after completion of the IPS, which allowed more time for students to complete both the IPS tasks and the TMA.

The deadline for TMA03 was also updated with a deadline of 8 April 2021.

January 2021 module start (21B)

TMA 03 and TMA 04 were re-written to reflect where apprentices were in their learning journey.

Furthermore, the deadline of TMA 04 was pushed back to 11 November 2021. This delayed the due date of this assignment until after completion of the IPS, which allowed more time for students to complete both the IPS tasks and the TMA.
