Certificate in Health and Social Care (S31) - Qualification withdrawal

The Open University will withdraw the Certificate in Health and Social Care (S31) on 31 December 2020. All students who wish to claim this qualification before it is withdrawn will need to satisfy all necessary academic requirements before this date.

Students should keep in mind that the compulsory module An introduction to health and social care (K101) will start for the final time in February 2020. If they do not successfully complete this module before it is withdrawn, they will be unable to complete this qualification.

Why this is happening

The module K101 will be replaced from October 2020 with a new module called Introducing health and social care (K102) with slightly different learning outcomes to that of K101. This has meant that the University needs to create a new certificate that is more appropriately aligned to this new module. For this reason, the Certificate in Health and Social Care (S31) will be withdrawn once K101 finishes for the final time.
