Conditions of Registration (Short Courses) 2019/20

Warning: the content within this page reflects the information available to students in the 2019/20 academic year. As such, this information may no longer be factually accurate.

The Open University has now published the new Policy Document – Conditions of Registration (short Courses) 2019/20. This supersedes the previous document - Conditions of Registration (short Courses) 2018/19. The policy has had some significant policy changes.

The Conditions of Registration (Short Courses) set out the terms and conditions (“Conditions”) that apply to registration for an Open University Short Course. A ‘Short Course’ is any non-credit bearing module that does not count towards any qualification, as set out in the short courses sections of The Open University’s online prospectus.

This document applies to students studying a non-credit bearing module that does not count towards any qualification. This includes non-credit bearing modules with both flexible and fixed start dates.

The changes made

  1. Restructured Section A so that it is comparable to Conditions of Registration 2019/20, including additional sentence regarding disclosures.
  2. Addition of D1.3 to clarify that payment by loan/grant or OUSBA is not permitted for short courses.
