November 2019

In November 2019, The Open University made a minor amendment to the Student Privacy Notice

The changes made

1. Update to the Scope section to clarify that Microcredential students are in scope.

March 2019

In March 2019, The University made some changes to the Student Privacy Notice from. This sets out how we use students personal data in order to provide services to students, manage its operations effectively, and meet legal requirements.

This document applies to all student who have ever enrolled or registered to study with The Open University, including

• undergraduate students
• postgraduate students
• students studying short courses
• students studying under partnership agreements
• research students
• apprentices

The changes made

1. Clarification in section 2.2: provision of information about orders, restrictions or arrangements imposed by a court or by an authorised body
2. Addition of information in Appendix 1 section 2 about checking students’ engagement with their study for the release and suspension of funding
