The Open University will make a small change to the BSc (Honours) Economics and Mathematical Sciences (Q15) from October 2019. A new compulsory 30-credit Stage 1 module, Economics in context (DD126), will be introduced in the qualification. This module will be available for the first time in October 2019.
This new module will replace You and your money (DB125) and will more fully introduce economics at Stage 1 of this qualification and ensure students are better prepared for their Stage 2 study of economics.
Its introduction will also mean that students can no longer study both You and your money (DB125) and Fundamentals of accounting (B124) in this qualification. In addition to their selected 30 credits from the optional modules available, students will also need to ensure that they complete 90 compulsory credits from the following modules:
Students should be assured that they will be able to count any completed credit from the current structure in the new structure.
We strongly advise that all students check their planned programme of study with one of our advisers to ensure that they have selected a suitable combination of modules.
Please talk to your Student Support Team if you need any further information. You can find out how to contact them on Contact the OU.
