Fee Rules (Postgraduate Study) 2018/19

Warning: the content within this page reflects the information available to students in the 2018/19 academic year. As such, this information may no longer be factually accurate.

The Open University has made some changes to the Fee Rules (postgraduate study), which sets out the rules that affect the fees, fee liabilities, fee refunds and fee credits for students studying postgraduate modules or qualifications. These fee rules apply to all students registered to study a postgraduate module in the 2018/19 academic year.

The changes made

  1. Removal of rules limiting the use of Fee Credits to alternative modules only where it is the first deferral (Section III C, paragraph 15-17 in Fee Rules (Postgraduate Study) 2017/18) to provide greater support to students in making appropriate decisions regarding their study choices.
  2. Removal of additional assessment banking discount to support students to make appropriate decisions regarding their study choices.
  3. Amendment to fee liability tables to increase clarity.
  4. Restructuring and reordering of content to increase usability.
