Conditions of Registration (Short Courses) 2018/19

Warning: the content within this page reflects the information available to students in the 2018/19 academic year. As such, this information may no longer be factually accurate.

In March 2018 The Open University made changes to the Conditions of Registration (Short Courses) which replaces the previous version of Terms and Conditions (Short Courses) 2017/18. The Conditions of Registration and the Conditions of Registration (Short Courses) form the basis of The Open University’s contract with all registered students.

These changes will apply to all students who study modules which start in the 2018/19 academic year (with start dates between 1 August 2018 and 31 July 2019).

The changes made

  1. Amendments to reflect changes in data protection legislation.
  2. Clarification provided around submission dates for assessments and course end dates.
  3. Significant changes to headings/structure/numbering formats to make document simpler to read and navigate.
  4. The Open University’s right to cancel section moved to new cancellation section.
  5. Addition of Section C4.4 to make detail of The Open University’s rights to cancel enrolments explicit in the Conditions of Registration (Short Courses), using content already published in our Academic Regulations.
