Working with Young People qualifications - Qualification withdrawal

The Open University plans to amend the teach-out plans when withdrawing the following qualifications:

  • Diploma of Higher Education in Working with Young People (W03)
  • Foundation Degree in Working with Young People (X03)

The final date by which students must complete their qualifications is still 31 December 2020, however we’ve decided to discontinue some of the compulsory modules earlier than originally planned.

What students need to do

If a student hasn’t already completed the compulsory level 2 module, Leading work with young people in practice (E218), they'll need to ensure they successfully complete this module before it is withdrawn. They will also need to ensure they they complete the remaining level 2 compulsory module, Childhood (E212), by 31 December 2020.

Students still have sufficient time to complete these Working with Young People qualifications before they are withdrawn.

Please talk to your Student Support Team if you need any further information. You can find out how to contact them on Contact the OU.
