The Open University will withdraw the BA (Hons) Economics and History (R18) on 31 December 2024. If a student wishes to claim this qualification, they will need to satisfy all necessary academic requirements before this date, and will likely need to study at least 60 credits per year. The final date a module can be started and counted towards this qualification is October 2023.
If a student is unable to complete their qualification before the withdrawal date, it may be possible for them to transfer their registration to another qualification depending on the modules they've already studied. Examples of qualifications that students may wish to transfer to include the BA (Hons) History (Q01) or the BA (Hons) Arts & Humanities (R14). Our Student Support Team can provide individual guidance relevant to a student's previous study if necessary.
Please also note that the compulsory module Running the economy (DD209) will be available for the final time in October 2022. If a student doesn't successfully complete this module before it is withdrawn, they will be unable to claim this qualification.
Please talk to your Student Support Team if you need any further information. You can find out how to contact them on Contact the OU.
