BA (Honours) Youth Justice Studies (England and Wales) (Q63) - Qualification withdrawal

The Open University will withdraw the BA (Hons) Youth Justice Studies (England and Wales) (Q63) on 31 December 2025. Students wishing to claim this qualification before it is withdrawn will need to satisfy all necessary academic requirements before this date.

If a student wishes to continue their studies towards the Q63, they need to keep in mind that some of the compulsory modules towards this qualification are coming to an end:

  • Foundations for effective practice in youth justice (K115) will start for the final time in October 2018.
  • Youth justice: theory, research and practice (K209) will start for the final time in October 2020.
  • The stage 3 modules, Exploring practice (K316) will start for the final time in October 2022.
  • Young lives, parenting and families (KE322) will start for the final time in October 2025.

If a student is unable to complete one of these modules before they are withdrawn, they will be unable to complete this qualification and may like to consider transferring onto the Open Degree (QD).

Students are strongly advised to check their planned programme of study with one of our advisers to ensure they've selected a suitable combination of modules, taking into account the availability of the modules being discontinued.

Please talk to your Student Support Team if you need any further information. You can find out how to contact them on Contact the OU.
