The Open University will withdraw the current BA in Health and Social Care (Q18) on 31 December 2023. This qualification will be replaced in October 2017 with a new BA in Health and Social Care (R26) with different learning outcomes. To claim the Q18, students must satisfy all necessary academic requirements by this date.
Some changes will also be made to the structure of this qualification from October 2017.
If a student wishes, they may be able to transfer to the new R26. However, this is only recommended if the combination of modules they have already studied fits easily with the new structure. If a student can't use all of their existing credit, they would need to undertake additional study to replace that credit. Please note that if a student does decide to transfer to R26, any award of credit transfer that they may have towards Q18 will need to be reassessed.
