Early Years qualifications - Claiming an intermediate qualification

The University has recently approved a policy change which will allow students currently working towards one of the following qualifications to claim the Certificate of Higher Education in Early Years Professional Practice (T19):

  • BA (Hons) Early Years (Q51)
  • Foundation Degree in Early Years (X01)
  • Diploma of Higher Education in Childhood Practice (W01)

What students need to do

To claim the Certificate of Higher Education in Early Years Professional Practice (T19), students will need to have completed the following modules:

  • The Early Years: developing practice (E100/EZL100)
  • Professional practice in the early years (E105).

A student's ultimate qualification aim of a degree or foundation degree will not be affected by claiming the T19. However, you should note that the Certificate of Higher Education in Early Years Professional Practice (T19) is due to be withdrawn on 31 December 2019. If you wish to claim this qualification, please contact your Student Support Team before the December 2019 deadline.
