Assessment Handbook (April 2017 update)

In April 2017, some amendments were made to the Assessment Handbook. These changes will affect all current Open University students.
The changes made
- Section 1.2 - Added information about modules with one component of assessment
- Section 1.6 – Clarified that deferral can’t be applied for on a resit or resubmission
- Section 2.5.6 – Corrected timescale for querying a TMA score and reference to Appendix 3
- Section 2.5.7 – Removed section about querying a score for a final TMA as this is the same as for any TMA
- Section 3.2 – Added additional information about notification of exam centre allocation
- Section 3.3.4 – Added a link to the Complaints and Appeals procedure
- Section 3.3.6 – Described change of process for having identification verified by a notary in the event acceptable ID isn’t brought to the exam centre
- Section 3.4.2 – Provided additional information about timescale for a response
- Section 3.6.1 – Corrected guidance about saving or downloading a copy of the EMA as it cannot be accessed from the eTMA system after the cut-off date
- Section 3.8.2 - Provided additional information about timescale for a response
- Section 4.3 – Updated information about revised process of awarding module results
- Section 4.6.2 – Improved guidance on elective postponement policy and process
- Section 4.8 – Updated information about viva vice exams
- Section 4.11 – Confirmed that aegrotat credit cannot count for more than 20% towards a qualification
- Appendix 2 - Revised to reflect the renamed Academic Progress Policy and the revised rules and procedures for applying for an academic study restriction applied under Regulation E2.1 (be) to be lifted.
- Appendix 3 - Added additional information for students studying Level 1 modules with continuous assessment only
