Additional year of discounted fees for Transitional students

Warning: the content within this page reflects the information available to students in the 2015/16 academic year. As such, this information may no longer be factually accurate.

Transitional fee arrangements are due to end on 31 August 2017. However, the University is offering an additional year of discounted fees that may help students complete a qualification.

What this means for students

Students may be entitled to use this discount to the standard fee until 31 August 2018 provided they continue to meet the eligibility requirements for transitional fee arrangements.

Students working towards an Open qualification (BD, E60 or K05)

Students will be able to use the discounted fee for modules that start between 1 September 2017 and 31 August 2018.

Students working towards a qualification that will be withdrawn at the end of 2017

The discounted fee will only be available to allow students to complete their existing qualification in exceptional circumstances (the application process for an exceptional extra year will be available from 11 April 2016). Alternatively, students have the option to move to an Open qualification and benefit from the additional year.

Please note:

  • The current system of government funded fee and course grants still ends on 31 August 2017 and will not be available to fund study after this date.
  • Even if you are able to take advantage of the additional year of discounted fees, any modules that start after 31 August 2018 will be subject the University’s standard fee.
