Conditions of Registration 2015/16

In March 2015, a number of changes were made to the Conditions of Registration. These regulations form the basis of The Open University’s contract with all registered students. This document contains a summary of the changes that will come into force for the 2015/16 academic year.
All students who study a module that starts in the 2015/16 academic year may be affected by these changes.
The changes made
- Section 1 – a recommendation that students should download and save documents has been added.
- Paragraph 1.7 – modification of restriction on taking legal action in respect of complaints and appeals.
- Paragraph 2.2 – amendments to liability for fees and for registration where fee payment is to be made by an arrangement with a third party.
- Paragraph 2.2 (e) to (g) – deleted as consequential changes to provisions now included, in modified form, in paragraph 2.2 (a) to (e).
- Section 3 – amendment to provisions relating to non-payment of fees to explicitly include the University’s right to refuse registration or to cancel registration in specified circumstances.
- Paragraph 5.2(c) – amended to cross refer the Section 3.
- Paragraph 5 – consequences of cancellation of module registration or enrolment added.
- Miscellaneous drafting or editorial changes including change of ‘fee discount’ to ‘fee credit’.
