Diploma of Higher Education and Foundation Degree in Financial Services (W10 and X10) - Qualification withdrawals

The Open University will withdraw the following qualifications on 31 December 2018:

  • Diploma of Higher Education in Financial Services (W10)
  • Foundation Degree in Financial Services (X10)

What students need to do

Students who wish to claim one of these qualifications will need to successfully complete all necessary academic requirements before they are withdrawn.

When planning your studies, students must keep in mind that some of the modules which count towards these qualifications are due to be discontinued before the qualification withdrawal date:

  • Working and learning: developing effective performance at work (BU130) will begin for the final time in April 2015
  • Business organisations and their environments (B201) will begin for the final time in October 2015 (we expect that this module will be replaced)

If a student is unable to complete their qualification by its withdrawal date, they will still be able to transfer their credits to the Diploma of Higher Education Open (W34). Any student who has been awarded credit transfer towards one of these qualifications will need to have this reassessed towards the W34.

Please talk to your Student Support Team if you need any further information. You can find out how to contact them on Contact the OU.
