Code of Practice for Student Discipline (September 2015 update)

A number of changes to the Code of Practice for Student Discipline were implemented on 1 October 2015. These changes apply to all students.
The changes made
- SD1.8 – a new subsection (SD 1.8 (b)) has been added regarding serious academic misconduct.
- SD2.1 – this section has been extended to provide a definition of the academic penalties that may be applied if an offence of Plagiarism is committed under SD1.8(a).
- SD3 – changes to this section remove the power of disciplinary authorities other than academic misconduct officers to act in relation to offences committed under SD1.8(a).
- SD4 – information has been added regarding notifying a student about any penalty and their right of appeal for an offence under SD1.8(a) to the Academic Misconduct Appeals Committee, and about the possibility that a serious or repeated offence may be referred to the Central Disciplinary Committee as an offence under SD1.8(b).
- SD10 – information has been added about the right of appeal for an offence under SD1.8(a) to the Academic Misconduct Appeals Committee and, where appropriate, to the Senate Academic Appeals Review Panel.
