MSc in Advanced Networking (F56) - Qualification amendment

Warning: the content within this page reflects what was communicated to students in the 2014/15 academic year. As such, this information may no longer be factually accurate.

The Open University will make some amendments to the MSc in Advanced Networking (F56) by developing two distinct study routes. The options now available to students are:

  • a research route, which can be completed by taking the 60-credit module Research project (T802), or
  • a professional route, which can be completed by taking Digital forensics (M812) alongside The MSc professional project (T847)

This change has been made in recognition of changes in the professional outlook of many network engineers.

There is no change in the title of the final qualification where either route leads to a full MSc. However, students who are in receipt of an externally funded scholarship may have their study route predetermined by their funding body.

Please talk to your Student Support Team if you need any further information. You can find out how to contact them on Contact the OU.
